First letter should go out at 30 days past due. There aren't usually 2nd and 3rd letters sent. Assurant will lapse the group if payment arrangements have not been made. If the group has lapsed and they want to reinstate, Assurant will reinstate. They can set up payment plans, pay in full and Assurant will reinstate right away. Assurant claims to be hassle free. If it's been several months since the lapse, then underwriting may get involved and request a new master application and begin as a new group. Assurant doesn't usually notify the agent. Even though Kelli and Guy have requested to be notified, they aren't always. Per Kelli, if any of our groups have lapsed and want to be reinstated, she is requesting that we ask them to contact her and she will work with them. |
